Samuel Allen

Samuel Allen is a main character of the Netflix television series October Faction. He is portrayed by Stephen McHattie.

He is the father of Seth and Fred Allen. The series sets off when Fred learns about his father's death. It is later revealed that Samuel did not die from a heart attack but was imprisoned by the Presidio Foundation.

Biography[]

It is unknown when Samuel joined the Presidio Foundation and when he met Magaret. However, both were married and worked for the initiative for a very long time. While Samuel gained a reputation as a skilled agent, his then-wife decided to become an archivist for the foundation.

They both eventually became parents and raised their two sons in their gothic mansion at Barrington-on-Hudson. Samuel and this wife planned on getting their sons involved with the initiative. They prepared the boys with stories about the monsters they hunt. On a night in 1975, a Himalayan Troglodyte made its way into the room of Seth and Fred. The older son attacked the monster and managed to knock it down, leaving the father proud.

Samuel saw a lot of potentials in his eldest son. He was proud of him and even gave him an advanced gun as a graduation gift. When Seth died, Samuel was devasted. Since Fred was present at the scene, Samuel holds a lifelong grudge towards his younger son. He became obsessed with the idea of bringing is beloved son back. In his secret laboratory in the basement of his mansion, he started his private experiments, away from Presidio.

When Fred told his parents about his plans to join the initiative along with Deloris Lang, Samuel expressed his disapproval. The thinks his son is weak and does not think Deloris is Presidio material. After a fight, he watches his son leave. When Fred married Deloris, Samuel did not attend their wedding. However, the father was at the couple's test battle when they joined Presidio.
